Bittnet Training launches CTRL+N: project for professional reconversion aimed to help 25,000 Romanians kickstart a career in IT

Bucharest, 26 October 2020 – Bittnet Training launches CTRL+N, a national professional reconversion project for adults who want to kickstart a new career in the IT field. By the end of 2025, Bittnet plans to help 25,000 Romanians press “Control + New” and to restart their professional path, reorienting towards IT. The courses will start on December 1st.

“According to experts, approximately 40% of existing jobs will disappear by 2030 due to digitalization. At the same time, the European Commission estimates that the deficit of the IT specialists in Europe will reach up to 900,000 people by the end of this year. The numbers are clear: in our personal and professional lives will exist more and more technology. We want to help Romanians become a part of that future, offer them a new beginning, a new start in both their career and in life. We want to develop the digital skills of our compatriots and to accomplish that, we invite Romanian entrepreneurs and multinationals to join us in this endeavor by offering scholarships to our students, their future employees. Together we have a chance to make digital education a national priority” said Dan Berteanu, CEO of Bittnet Training and VP of Education at Bittnet Group.

According to the 2020 edition of the Digital Economy and Society Index, almost one-fifth of Romanians have never used the internet. Moreover, less than a third (31%) have minimum basic digital skills, compared with the EU average of 58%. Only 10% of Romanians have above-average digital skills, compared with 33% of Europeans, placing Romania last in the EU. Romanian ICT specialists represent a much lower proportion of the workforce than in the EU as a whole – 2.2%, against an EU average of 3.9%.

The professional reconversion courses offered by Bittnet under CTRL+N umbrella were developed based on the skills required from the most sought-after 28 jobs in the IT industry, in areas such as software development, hardware administration, cloud, project management, and cybersecurity. The training is rigorous and includes access to study materials in video format in Romanian, intermediate tests through which students can assess their progress, practical activities, regular meetings with trainers and IT specialists, membership in the project community to support the lifelong learning process. All offered so that employees already active in other fields will be able to make the transition to a new job in the IT field by assimilating new knowledge and skills at their own pace of learning.

The cost of the reconversion course with CTRL+N is 899 lei and until December 1st, 2020, the students can purchase them with a special discount, for 799 lei. Depending on the course, the duration can last between 11 and 22 weeks however this period can be both shortened or extended, depending on the pace of each student, the course can last between 11 and 22 weeks. The classes will be offered in entirety online; therefore, the students will be able to connect and follow the training from any place in the world, by simply connecting to the internet. After passing the final exam, the students will receive a formal diploma from Bittnet and will be actively promoted to Bittnet Group partner companies for employment opportunities.

Bittnet, together with partners will also offer scholarships to those who lost jobs because of the COVID-19 pandemic, to those who do not have digital skills, or to people who have a lower income than the average income per economy.
