ANT Energy, part of Simtel Group, acquires Alsen Energy Consulting and expands its services to the electricity supply segment

ANT Energy, part of Simtel (BVB: SMTL), an engineering and technology group listed on the Main Market of the Bucharest Stock Exchange and one of the national leaders in the renewable energy sector, has acquired a 55% majority stake in Alsen Energy Consulting, a company specialized in providing services to electricity producers, distributors, suppliers, and consumers.
“This acquisition holds significant strategic value for both ANT Energy and the entire Simtel ecosystem. Alsen Energy Consulting brings strong expertise in the electricity supply segment and naturally complements our mission to actively contribute to the modernization of the energy sector. We aim to be part of this market’s transformation through digitalization, operational efficiency, and the intelligent integration of renewable energy sources. Expanding into the supply segment strengthens the group’s position along the energy transition value chain and brings us closer to our objective of creating complete, sustainable, and scalable solutions for the future of energy in Romania and beyond,” stated Adrian Tita, CEO of ANT Energy.
Alsen Energy Consulting provides specialized services to participants in the electricity market, including consultancy for obtaining supply, trading, and distribution licenses, integrated services for electricity suppliers covering all license-related requirements, distribution license support including tariff setting, assistance for consumers in electricity procurement, consultancy for developing electricity supply offers, customer portfolio optimization, support in implementing specific IT systems, and ensuring regulatory compliance. In 2024, Alsen Energy Consulting recorded a turnover of approximately 1.5 million lei and a net profit of 0.5 million lei.
“After an eight-year collaboration between the two companies, the strong synergy we have built gives me full confidence in the future development of the business in this new structure. We have identified a significant market need for the type of high-quality services we offer together. Through this partnership, we now complete the full range of market services for both electricity suppliers and producers. Our clients will find everything in one place, from obtaining licenses to trading energy on Romanian markets. Additionally, we will jointly manage the commercial operation of newly commissioned production capacities and more,” stated Anca Iosif, CEO of Alsen Energy Consulting.
The transaction, fully financed from ANT Energy’s own resources, marks a strategic step in diversifying its service portfolio by expanding into the electricity supply segment, complementing its existing services for producers, where it already operates in market access, imbalance management, and forecasting. In 2024, ANT Energy provided market access and forecasting solutions for renewable energy producers with a total installed capacity exceeding 500 MW.
Alsen Energy Consulting will continue to be led by Anca Iosif as CEO. Following the transaction, the ownership structure of Alsen Energy Consulting consists of ANT Energy with 55%, Anca-Mihaela Iosif with 35%, and Danut Diaconu with 10%.
